You Don’t Need to Know Anything Before Coming to Class
One of the biggest reasons people hesitate before trying something new is because they think they need to already understand it first. They think they need to know what to expect, how to do it, what to wear, what to say, how to breathe, how to move, or how to somehow already belong before they even walk through the door.
But the truth is, you do not need to know anything before coming to class. You do not need experience. You do not need flexibility. You do not need a certain level of spirituality. You do not need to know the language. You do not need to be good at slowing down. You do not need to have your emotions figured out.
You just need to be willing to begin.

What we want you to know before coming
You are welcome here even if you are:
- Brand new to all of this
- Feeling nervous or unsure
- Carrying stress, grief, or overwhelm
- Still figuring out what you even need
- Just looking for a place to exhale
A lot of people think they need to be “ready” first
This happens all the time. People are curious about breathwork, sound healing, meditation, Reiki, or yoga, but they talk themselves out of coming because they feel like they should already know something before they begin.
They wonder: What if I do it wrong? What if everyone else knows more than me? What if I feel awkward? What if I get emotional? What if I do not understand what is happening? What if I am the only beginner there?
These are very human questions. And they usually do not mean something is wrong. They simply mean you are stepping toward something new. That is normal.
You do not need to be an expert to begin. You only need a space that makes beginning feel safe.
Healing spaces should not make people feel behind
One of the reasons people avoid classes is because they are afraid of walking into a space that feels exclusive, overly polished, or like everyone else already knows the rules. They worry they will be the only one who does not get it.
But that is not how it should feel. A healing space should not make you feel behind. It should not make you feel like you have to perform understanding. It should not make you feel like you need the right words, the right body, or the right background to be welcomed.
It should feel like a place where curiosity is enough. Where questions are okay. Where going at your own pace is normal. Where nobody expects perfection from you.

You do not need to know how to breathe, move, or meditate perfectly
So many people assume they need to be good at the practice before they ever try it. They think they need to already know how to meditate. Already know how to breathe deeply. Already know how to relax. Already know how to move their body in the “right” way.
But the truth is, a good class is meant to guide you. That is the whole point. You are not expected to walk in already knowing everything. You are coming to learn, to experience, to explore, and to receive support.
No one is expecting you to have it all figured out. And honestly, a lot of people who come are there because they are trying to reconnect with themselves too. Not because they have mastered anything.
You are not supposed to arrive already knowing how to do the thing. The class is there to hold the experience for you.

You are allowed to come curious, nervous, tired, or unsure
Not everyone walks into class feeling confident. Some people come in feeling anxious. Some come in feeling exhausted. Some come in carrying stress, grief, or overwhelm. Some come in not really knowing what they need, only knowing they need something.
That is enough. You do not have to arrive as the best version of yourself. You do not have to arrive grounded. You do not have to arrive open. You do not have to arrive feeling calm.
Sometimes coming to class is the first step toward finding a little more calm. Sometimes it is the place where your body gets to exhale for the first time that week. Sometimes it is simply where you get to stop holding everything alone for a moment.
A good first experience should feel guided, not overwhelming
A first class should not feel like you got dropped into the middle of something you were somehow supposed to already understand. It should feel guided. Warm. Grounded. Clear enough to follow. Spacious enough to breathe.
That means you can listen, observe, follow along at your own pace, rest when needed, ask questions when needed, and let the class meet you where you are.
Healing does not deepen because someone was pressured into keeping up. It deepens when people feel safe enough to actually be present.
The goal is not to impress anyone. The goal is to let yourself have an experience.

Different classes support beginners in different ways
One of the beautiful things about having a variety of practices is that people can begin where they feel most comfortable. Some people feel drawn to stillness. Some to sound. Some to breath. Some to gentle movement. Some just want a space where they can slow down and see what happens.
There is no single right place to start. The best place to begin is often the one that feels most approachable to you.
Sound Healing
Can be a beautiful entry point for people who simply want to lie down, receive, and let themselves rest without pressure.
Breathwork
Can help people reconnect with themselves in a guided way, especially when they have been moving through life on autopilot.
Meditation
Can offer a gentle space to slow down and begin noticing what has been present beneath the noise.
Gentle Movement or Yoga
Can support people in coming back into relationship with their bodies without needing to perform or get everything right.
Belonging does not begin after you learn everything
A lot of people think belonging comes later. After they understand the practice. After they have come a few times. After they stop feeling new. After they know what to expect.
But real belonging should begin the moment you walk in. Not because you know everything, but because you are welcomed. Because the space makes room for you. Because being new is not a problem there. Because not knowing is not something to be embarrassed about.
You do not need to earn the right to be there by becoming more familiar first. Being new is allowed. Learning as you go is allowed. Taking your time is allowed.
You do not have to understand everything before you belong. Sometimes belonging is what helps you feel safe enough to learn.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply letting yourself come
For many people, the biggest step is not the class itself. It is letting themselves come in the first place. Letting themselves try something new. Letting themselves be supported. Letting themselves enter a space without needing to have everything sorted out first.
That step matters. It takes courage to choose something different. It takes courage to walk into a room when you do not know exactly how it will go. It takes courage to say maybe I need this, even if you do not fully know why yet.
And sometimes that courage becomes the doorway. Not because you had all the answers, but because you gave yourself permission to begin anyway.
Sometimes the first act of healing is not knowing what you are doing. It is allowing yourself to show up anyway.
You are allowed to start where you are
You do not need to study before coming to class. You do not need to memorize anything. You do not need to know how the practice works in order to receive something meaningful from it. You do not need to be less anxious, more open, more experienced, or more prepared.
The class is not asking you to be an expert. It is inviting you into an experience. One where you get to learn, feel, soften, and explore at your own pace.
You do not need to know anything before coming to class. You just need to let yourself come.
